In lieu of International Women’s Day, we wanted to recognise the achievements women have conquered over time, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality! And our way of doing this is to show our appreciation for some of our amazing female artists and designers! And don’t we have a fabulous group of women and their work to show you...
In this article, discover sleek marble effect wallpapers by Lara Skinner and abstract artwork with golden hues by Elisabeth Fredriksson. Not forgetting beautiful botanical artwork by Burca Korkmazyurek and tropical jungles by Andrea Haase. Of course, we’d love to mention all our fantastic female artists, but we have had to narrow it down to just 10 of them. So read on if you want to celebrate with us and recognise our group of very talented women!
Carol Robinson

If marble effect wallpapers aren't for you, why not take a look at our gorgeous watercolour floral range by Carol Robinson? Carol is an artist who loves to combine different mediums with digital art to create her unique artwork. From refreshing green tones such as this Sage Green Garden mural to bright and bold tropical tones, her collection is a joy to see. Not only this, they look perfect in a wide range of rooms whether a calming green and white living room to a pink floral bedroom.
Elisabeth Fredriksson
Mural in photo: Horizon mural
For a completely abstract look, we highly recommend Elisabeth Fredriksson’s artwork. Her beautiful collection of abstract artworks comes in a range of simple tones from neutral and dark to golden hints. This nature-loving Swedish artist was passionate about art from a young age stemming from her mother’s oil paintings scattered around their home. The beauty of her abstract wallpapers is that they conjure up many images when looked at. For instance, her beautiful Horizon wallpaper looks like three blocks of colour at first but looked at more closely, can you see a distant line of trees emerging from the white into the gold? Or can you see fire with plumes of smoke hovering above?
Andrea Haase
Mural in photo: Paradise Island Elephant
If you want gorgeous tropical wallpaper, then Andrea Haase is your best friend. A collection of tropical foliage, safari animals, jungle birdlife and more, there is so much to see and enjoy. There are even window effect murals to create an illusional feature wall in your home! And luckily for us, we discovered Andrea in one of our competitions to find the next designer! Where would you install one of her floral and tropical prints?
Burcu Korkmazyurek

Another one of our talented female designers is Burcu Korkmazyurek. An artist whose work draws from the surreal to neoclassical, she draws inspiration from different genres, artistic media and even centuries. In her collection, expect to see a wide spectre of pretty florals. From quaint pink roses that look like they would look at home outside a thatched roof cottage to tropical leafy wallpapers that belong in the jungle.
Annette Schmucker
Mural in photo: City of Lights
Another one of our fabulous female artists is Annette Schmucker. A self-taught artist who was originally a doctor, she loves the diversity painting has to offer. This is clear to see in the variation of texture and movement in her work. From vibrant cityscapes to romantic dancing scenes, her work is a celebration of colour, vibrancy and beauty. If you are looking for an abstract painting mural, Annette is the answer.
Uta Naumann
Mural in photo: Purple Foliage
If you want to see luxurious, floral designs, we introduce you to Uta Naumann. This talented female designer’s collection of floral wallpapers is varied in colour as well as content. From leafy tropical designs and moody dark florals to sweet hummingbirds and chinoiserie-inspired art, the more you look at Uta's collection, the more you discover. Ideal for a romantic bedroom, quirky living room or even a pretty baby's nursery!
Rosana Laiz Garcia
Mural in photo: Floral Antarctica World Map
Rosana Laiz Garcia is very different to many of our other female artists as she creates unique world maps with a twist. All her maps are either designed with a beautiful watercolour effect or are embellished with pretty botanicals. How fabulous does this Floral Antarctica World Map look in this duck egg blue living room?
Nicola Evans
Mural in photo: Blurred mural
Utterly retro and cool, Nicola Evan’s work always steps us back in time to mid-century style. With a mix of warm yellow, brown and orange tones mixed with striking turquoise and greys, her work is a celebration of colour as well as shape that creates the illusion of movement. Perfect for a lounge, bedroom or even a home office, her atmospheric designs will make a statement in any setting. Simply pair with '50s-'60s inspired decor to really create the ideal retro atmosphere.
GCC Artworks
Mural in photo: Spearmint Geode
Last, but certainly not least is GCC Artwork, otherwise known as Gemma Coates. This fluid artist based in the UK works mainly with ink and resin but often adds in a mix of media to create more depth and texture in her work. View her fluid and abstract marble effect wallpapers which range in texture effects and beautiful tones. We adore the greys and mint greens in this Spearmint Geode design.
We're so proud of our female designers and couldn't not give a big shout to some of our others: Anne Farrall Doyle, Danielle Nelisse, Dubravka Kolanovic, Gabriela Larios, Julia Fonnereau, Katy Clemmans, Shandra Smith, Rebecca Johnstone and so many more!
