Lancashire based Wallsauce.com are proud to have helped transform the home of a family from Bury as part of a DIY SOS make-over for the hit BBC TV show.
The challenge was to renovate the home and garden of Maddie Malone and her family. After moving into their current home in 2012, the family worked to adapt their home for their young daughter Maddie, who suffered from dystonia and an undiagnosed brain disease that is both life limiting and life threatening. Through unforeseen problems the renovations were left unfinished, but were rescued by the BBC’s team from DIY SOS; The Big Build and its many contributors
Within the entire renovation project, Wallsauce.com were asked to help out and provided the black and white, custom made wall mural for use in a first floor pamper room for Michelle Malone and her daughters. The idea was to give it an exciting, vibrant city feel and New York seemed to be the obvious choice. A selection of murals was offered and the final Manhattan skyline wall mural was chosen by flamboyant designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to be used in the project.
Tony Fairhurst, Managing Director comments: “When we were initially approached by the BBC to donate our services to assist with the renovation of the Malone family home, we were more than delighted to help out. The DIY SOS team needed a wallpaper mural to cover the entire four walls of the first-floor nail room. As made to measure wall murals are our speciality, this was relatively straight-forward for us to do. Once the mural had been chosen, this was then custom printed to fit the room’s exact dimensions”.
New York Wall Murals
New York wall murals are one of Wallsauce.com’s most popular products. Manhattan skylines both in black and white and in colour are equally popular. Customers can add their own custom dimensions into the website, choose and wall covering and order online.
This episode of DIY SOS will air on BBC One at 8pm on Friday 30th May 2014.
