Bedroom Trends 2025: Nature, Abstracts, Texture

We’re delighted to bring you the bedroom design trends for 2025. From eye-tricking textured walls to embracing bold colours, we’ve put together the bedroom trends we expect to dominate the design world for the next twelve months.

2024’s bedroom trends focused on the power of neutral colours, the glamour of metallic accents and how to give new life to old items through upcycling. But what does 2025 have in store for us?

Without further fuss or delay, let’s get straight into the bedroom design trends for 2025.

Create a Sanctuary of Calm

When designed effectively, your bedroom is a personal sanctuary that will improve your mood, reduce stress and promote better sleep quality. It can be a refuge from the stresses of life where you retreat at the end of each day to recharge and have a moment to yourself.

For many of us, serenity and peace is associated with nature. Biophilic design is the theory that we have an innate desire to affiliate with nature, even in modern homes and buildings. To accomplish this, we have to do more than just have a neglected plant growing sadly in the corner of the room.

We must embrace natural textures, materials and light sources in order to create a bedroom that truly acts as a sanctuary of calm. The colour of the room is perhaps the first thing we notice as we walk into a space and it’s crucial you find a shade that suits you.

Green is a safe choice for promoting a relaxing atmosphere of positive energy. However, shades of white, beige and even lighter tones of grey are all effective choices for a biophilic design bedroom.

Draw inspiration from nature and choose botanical prints and floral patterns to complement the natural finishing touches and actual plant life you’ve brought into the room. More than ever, we need a personal space to shut out the noise of everyday life and with a bedroom sanctuary, you’ll wake each morning ready to take on the day.

For some of us, our bedroom design ideas are restricted by the confines of the space. We’d love to do more but we have low ceilings, awkward walls or just not enough room to accomplish everything we’d like to.

A great way of getting the absolute most from your space is by playing with texture. You can add depth and dimension to your bedroom by choosing panelled wallpaper, a trend we think is going to be very popular in 2025.

Surface texture wallpaper lets you achieve a completely different look in your bedroom without you having to break the bank or undergo the hassle of a construction site. Whether you want the old-fashioned sophistication of wood panelling or the decadent grandeur of dreamy marble, you can achieve the look you’ve always wanted to.

Playing with texture doesn’t have to stop with the walls. Use wood to make the room feel grounded and warm or contrast different fabrics to break up a room that is too one-note. There’s no wrong combination of textures to use when designing your dream bedroom.

Your bedroom should reflect who you are and the things you love. No one wants to open their eyes each morning and be greeted by a bedroom that doesn’t make them happy. Because of this, bedrooms are a great place in the home to be bold with colour. Do you love bright pink? Perfect, go all out - it’s you who will be sleeping in there each night, so why not?

You can start small with a cushion, rug or framed print. Then, when you’re feeling more colour confident, you can go all out. Minimalist, beige bedrooms have had their day. But at a certain point, they start to feel a little artificial and inauthentic. If a close friend walked into your bedroom, would they know it’s yours?

Abstract designs are typically bursting with colour. They’re an eye-catching way of introducing bold shades of colour to a bedroom that you want to feel more contemporary. Even if you’re restricted by what you can change, little abstract additions can start to shift the overall vibe of the room in the right direction.

The grip of nostalgia on interior design shows no sign of slipping. There’s a kind of comfort associated with all things vintage that makes them increasingly popular. No matter which decade you’re trying to recapture, with the right design choices and finishing touches you can step into a different era each time you enter the room.

Vintage decor is so on-trend because there’s an understated elegance and sophistication to it. Whether we’ve all been bitten by the Bridgerton bug, or there’s a growing rejection of the cold simplicity of modern design, there is a growing demand for things that would have been labelled as ‘old-fashioned’ not too long ago.

If you plan on embracing the trend of vintage decor in 2025, then there are a few things to keep in mind. Consider how the room sits within the house as a whole. It might be a little jarring to step from one century to another if your kitchen is ultra-modern and your bedroom is vintage.

Then, there’s the issue of choosing which era to embrace. You might love the furniture of the 1960s, the lighting of the 1980s and the colour scheme of the 1990s - all with an ultra-modern television in the middle of it. This can leave your bedroom looking a little haphazard, as opposed to a cohesive design.
