PANTONE, The Global Colour Consultant, Have Recently Announced The Colour Of 2017.
Described as a “refreshing and revitalising shade”, PANTONE have introduced ‘Greenery’ as the colour of the year. This “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade” represents new beginnings and is associated with new foliage in spring.
“It’s just a colour,” we may hear you say, “why is it so important?” Greenery will set the tone (no pun intended) for any designer, artist, stylist who works in fashion, packaging, interior design… the list goes on. You will be seeing Greenery everywhere this year - it’s a big deal!
Also known as PANTONE 15-0343, this revitalising colour comes at a time where the world appears "very stressful and tense", as Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute, Leatrice Eiseman explains.

The Meaning of Green
Described by the Cambridge Dictionary as the ‘colour between blue and yellow’ and the ‘colour of grass’, green generally symbolises growth and freshness and is commonly associated with safety. In Japan, green is allied with eternal life. In Portugal, it’s the colour of hope; Islam, green is the sacred colour.
However, the pessimistic shades of green, such as PANTONE's 2013 colour, Emerald, can suggest ill health, jealousy and even resurrection in some cultures.
How to Make Greenery Work in your Home
